JOB SUMMARY: The Operations Supervisor plans, organizes, leads and directs the production and distribution of product while providing hands-on management support to the Operations Manager of the branch.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILIES:

• Assists Operations Manager with hiring and training of new employees
• Schedules and oversees warehouse associates
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures orders are manufactured accurately and in a timely manner, inspecting finished goods to ensure quality expectations are met
• Coordinates with other departments including accounting and sales to ensure process payments, and assist with promotions to continue to grow the business; ensures all branch Associates maintain professional, open lines of communication
• Develops relationships with customers, vendors and manufacturers to ensure the highest level of customer service and resolves escalated issues and inquiries in a timely and courteous manner
• Operates and maintains machinery, forklifts and other related equipment by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and scheduling preventive and necessary repairs
• Meets warehouse operational standards by implementing and ensuring production, productivity, quality, and customer-service; continuously seeks and implements process and performance improvement
• Moves inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse; coordinating inventory transfers with related departments
• Monitors and maintains inventory by conducting monthly physical counts; reconciling variances; inputting data
• Assigns and reviews production, warehouse and delivery Associates and ensures that all assigned work is completed accurately and in a timely manner
• Assist in selecting, orienting, training and assigning Associates; supervises Associates to ensure company policies, procedures and safety guidelines are followed at all times; conduct performance reviews and disciplinary action including coaching, warnings and terminations
• Back-up Operations Manager and Warehouse Associates during absences and as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must have 3-5 years previous experience in a Warehouse Lead or Supervisor role
• Experience with manufacturing, production and/or distribution processes and inventory management systems
• Experience with process management systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, reach overhead and climb stairs
• May require sitting and/or standing for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds occasionally

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This job works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers
• The noise level in the work environment can be loud
